Please read this before you start. RUSH Pilates is an Australian business based in Victoria.
General guidance only
RUSH provides general exercise guidance. It is not medical, physiotherapy or other health advice, and it can't assess whether a particular exercise is right for you. RUSH is not a substitute for a qualified Pilates instructor or a healthcare professional.
Check with a professional first if:
- you are pregnant or have recently given birth;
- you have an injury, or are recovering from an injury or surgery;
- you have a medical condition, such as a heart, lung, joint, bone or blood-pressure condition;
- you have been told by a health professional to limit physical activity; or
- you are unsure whether exercise is safe for you.
Stop exercising straight away if you feel:
- pain, or pain that gets worse;
- dizziness, faintness or nausea;
- chest pain, an irregular heartbeat or unusual shortness of breath.
If symptoms are severe or don't settle quickly, seek medical help. In an emergency, call 000.
Exercise safely
- Work within your own range and at your own pace. You don't have to finish an exercise or a session.
- Use the "make it easier", "leave out a movement" and "shorten" options whenever you need them.
- Clear enough space around you, and use a mat or soft surface for floor work.
- Check your equipment before each use. Replace resistance bands that are worn or nicked, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for your equipment.
- If you use a reformer, follow its manufacturer's instructions, check springs, straps and stoppers before each exercise, and only use equipment that is in good condition.
How RUSH's exercises are prepared
Exercises and instructions in RUSH are reviewed by a qualified Pilates instructor before they appear in programs. RUSH's adaptations only use exercises from this reviewed library, and RUSH does not decide whether a movement is medically appropriate for you.
Your responsibility
You choose whether to exercise and how hard to work. To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we are not responsible for injury or loss caused by not following this guidance or by exercising against medical advice.
